Dublin full-back Eoghan O’Donnell hopes to be able to prove his fitness ahead of their All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final fixture.

A hamstring injury brought O’Donnell’s participation in the memorable Leinster SHC victory over Galway to an end in the 14th minute and he’s unsure if he’ll be able to line out against the winners of this Sunday’s Joe McDonagh Cup final (Laois/Westmeath) on July 6/7.

“I got a small tear in the Galway game, very early on, which is disappointing,” he revealed to the Irish Independent at the launch of the AIG Cups and Shields in GUI Headquarters, Carton House.

“But I'm working very closely with the physios and working hard.

“We still have a bit of time before the game, so there hasn’t been a decision made either way – just trying to give it as much time as I can.”
