"We're not happy with just one"

Limerick's Kyle Hayes celebrates after the All Ireland SHC final win over Galway at Croke Park

Kyle Hayes says Limerick’s current crop will be disappointed if they only win one All-Ireland.

The Treaty County stormed to Liam MacCarthy Cup glory last year and their strong start to the league suggests that John Kiely’s men should be in the shake-up again this summer.

The Shannonsiders swept Kilkenny aside to record their third straight league win at Nowlan Park on Sunday and Young Hurler of the Year Hayes afterwards confirmed that the reigning champions are not prepared to settle for one All-Ireland:

“Some teams might have done that but everyone on that bus and everyone at home ... we’re not happy with just one, we wanted to get back into hurling as soon as we could and just drive on with it,” he told The Irish Sun.

“Any team playing with confidence is going to play well. Everyone is just training hard and what you do in training is going to happen out there on that field. We’re really training hard at the moment and we’ll try to keep it going.”
