Dublin star Bernard Brogan has returned to training with the All-Ireland champions after a four-month lay-off.

The St Oliver Plunketts clubman has been side-lined since suffering an anterior cruciate injury in training back in February, with the initial fears being that the 34-year-old's 2018 season was over.

However, Brogan was seen back in training with the Dubs in a video posted on their official YouTube account last night and manager Jim Gavin has stated his delight at the veteran forward's return.

"It's great to see Bernard Brogan back on the pitch again with us, and that's really positive for the team and for Bernard," said Gavin.

"He's doing trojan work behind the scenes, and hopefully we'll still be in the competition when he returns.

"Stephen Cluxton picked up a heavy bang but he's on the road to recovery, that's the first thing to say, he's in great spirits and determined to play his part.

"We'll just assess it with the medical team, and Stephen and medics will come up with what's right for him and right for the team over the coming days."
