Dean Rock is poised to make his 60th consecutive appearance for Dublin when they begin their Leinster SFC defence against either Offaly or Wicklow next month.

The dead-ball specialist has played a remarkable 59 games in-a-row - 52 of which he started - for the All-Ireland champions stretching back to 2014.

"I missed the whole National League in 2014 because I had an operation on my knee. I just got back for the championship and probably wasn't really hitting the ground running," he told the Irish Daily Star at at an event to mark the commencement of the 2018 AIG Cups & Shields golf season in Carton House yesterday.

"So when the All-Ireland series finished in 2014, I trained through the whole winter and managed to hit the ground running for the O'Byrne Cup in 2015. I played every game there and got great confidence in that and kicked on again ever since.

"I'm lucky enough that I've played in every single game now for Dublin from 2015, league and championship.

"For me, playing games is the most important thing and it's obviously something that's certainly helped me to grow in confidence, playing week on week and time after time."
