Former GAA President Liam O'Neill is considering a run for the Irish Presidency.

The Laois native served as president of the association from 2012 to 2015, with the sale of rights to some games to Sky being amongst the key decisions he made during his term.

Now 62 years old, Mr O'Neill recently retired from teaching after 42 years and confirmed to the Leinster Express that he will make a decision on whether or not to run over "the next few weeks".

"I have been humbled and flattered by the amount of people who have asked me. I am considering it, and I will come to a decision in the next few weeks," he stated.
