Limerick and Cork enjoyed winning starts to the Munster SHC while Kilkenny and Wexford edged out Offaly and Dublin respectively…
1. Alan Nolan (Dublin)
The Dublin netminder kept a clean sheet in Innovate Wexford Park but it turned out to be another case of so near and yet so far for Pat Gilroy's side.
2. Cian O'Callaghan (Dublin)
The Model County were made to sweat before eventually breaking the brave resistance of O'Callaghan and his Sky Blue team-mates.
3. Damian Cahalane (Cork)
The Rebel County full-back proved to be the rock on which many a Clare attack perished in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
4. Paddy Deegan (Kilkenny)
Deegan and the Cats made it two wins from as many outings at Offaly's expense in Nowlan Park on Sunday afternoon.
5. Diarmuid Byrnes (Limerick)
A commanding presence in the half-back line, Byrnes underlined his worth to the Treaty County cause with three superbly executed long range placed balls.
6. Declan Hannon (Limerick)
The Limerick captain led by example as John Kiely's charges secured a fully deserved 1-23 to 2-14 success.
7. Mark Coleman (Cork)
The Blarney clubman frustrated Clare on a number of occasions as John Meyler's side claimed a five-point win.
8. Darragh Fitzgibbon (Cork)
The overall midfield performance of Fitzgibbon was a key ingredient in the Rebel County's winning formula and he sent over three points for good measure.
9. Kevin Foley (Wexford)
When the going got tough, Foley got going and helped his side scrape over the line against Dublin.
10. Aaron Gillane (Limerick)
The Patrickswell ace continued where he left off in the league with a return of 0-8 against the Premier County.
11. Rory O'Connor (Wexford)
Finished as his team's top scorer with 0-12 and spared their blushes with two vital late interventions.
12. John Conlon (Clare)
No finger of blame for the Banner County's defeat can be pointed in the direction of Conlon who raised five white flags against Cork.
13. Luke Scanlon (Kilkenny)
The future looks bright for the James Stephens player who registered four points on his full championship debut.
14. Patrick Horgan (Cork)
A 0-10 contribution from the ever-reliable Glen Rovers clubman helped swing the Pairc Ui Chaoimh clash in Cork's favour.
15. Graeme Mulcahy (Limerick)
Eyebrows were raised when Mulcahy was called ashore in the 54th minute but he made life extremely uncomfortable for the Tipp defence during the time he was on the field.
