Donegal V Tyrone - 5 Like(s)
Yes, Donegal seemed to run out of steam for sure in the final quarter. One cynical aspect of the game which was allowed to go unchecked was one of the Tyrone backroom staff with a green bib continually kicking a second ball onto the pitch every time the Donegal goalie went to take a quick kick out in the last 10 minutes and slowing the game up. It happened at least 5 or 6 times before the linesman intervened and sent him to the dugout. If I had been on that side of the pitch I'd have jumped the fence myself and put him in the dugout. How did the Donegal bench allow this to continually go unchecked and why did McQuillan do nothing about it earlier when it was obvious what was going on.

Is Dublin's 3 in a row Tarnished? - 5 Like(s)
Does the fact that 2 of Dublins victories in their 3 in a row success came against Mayo tarnish what would otherwise be a great achievement? Discuss!

Replying To Cuckoosinging: "Any comment on the Mayo fans booing Roscommon free takers" Agree Cukoosinging. Hypocrisy here is Mind boggling. It's fine for Mayo fans to boo certain opposition players but when it's done to one of their own, theyre up in arms. Please God ye put them out of their misery once and for all next weekend.

Replying To panamasam: "No blinkers here I watched it again last night absolute childs play and little or no pressure anytime. He was silly given he was on a card but straight red for that? Laughable." Would suggest you watch it a few times more then so. The 5th knee into the back for good measure was the most cynical of the lot. A cowardly act and totally uncalled for. A class act as a footballer but fast becoming a liability to the team. If it was a Donegal player on the receiving end I have no doubt you wouldn't be condoning it.

Replying To lilypad: "More then the dubs?? Now come on" Yes more than the Dubs. I've never had much of a problem with the Dubs but there is a nasty element to some of the Tyrone support which you seldom see elsewhere. This is the same support which spat on Karl Lacey from the stands during a McKenna Cup Game in 2013. One supporter yes but symptomatic of the toxicity among elements of their support on an all too regular basis.

Kerry v Mayo - 4 Like(s)
Replying To breakingball22: "Went to the game as a neutral today and it was great viewing. Players putting bodies on the lines for their cause and surprising composure by Mayo when they had Kerry on the rack. Kerry set out to up the physical stakes from the start. Each one of there defenders tried to rough up their opposing forward before the opening whistle. I'd imagine this was to test Mayo's underbelly. Unfortunately for them, Mayo were not found wanting and if anything they were fired up by it.
Also, despite players making it difficult for him, the ref was very good. He blew so many frees in the first 15 mins because Kerry were pulling and dragging their men off the ball and he was switched on to it. He has had a few dodgy performances in games but I think this was not one.
Finally, I would say that there ain't too much love for Donaghy here and his punch was thuggish but if he retires it is a disappointing way for him to finish. I thought that he showed leadership today when many others didn't. The jeering of him was annoying because this isn't bloody soccer and mayo fans generally have more class than that. Apart from that the mayo support was fantastic." Majority of Mayo fans never had class.

Replying To Sheedy: "Hard luck to mayo. Mayo have been the best football team for the past 4 years. Referees win games. The worst game was when Kerry won a semi-final and the heavy built mayo supporter got on the field and had a go at the ref. Today a goal was scored and 11steps over carrying were taken. Mayo 4 in a row if given fair play." Have you been on the gargle?

Replying To Gleebo: "I have nothing against Donegal, I just find it ironic that someone from up there would make such a comment, given that Mayo teams have won more at national level through the grades (even allowing for our long drought at the highest level).
Having said that, that particular poster seems to have some axe to grind with us, so I wouldn't see him as being representative of your county's posters." No axe to grind Gleebo. Just that I have witnessed your supporters up close and personal these past few years and safe to say ye were and are the worst I have ever had the misfortune to witness. And I am not alone on that I can assure you. Theres a difference between fanatical and provocative and Mayo supporters fit the latter bracket.

Replying To Donegal_abroad: "Memories endure!" Totally agree. Memories endure for sure. I was in Omagh on that day in 2013 too and never ever witnessed such venom and hatred from fans anywhere before or after. And it wasn't just one or two supporters. It was mob mentality - men, women and children.

Why are pundits taking it easy on Kerry? - 3 Like(s)
You're spot on CuChulainn. RTE lost the plot a long time ago. The hypocrisy in relation to the Cavanagh incident where the Tyrone man had his gender questioned and Anthony Mahers pull down drives me nuts. RTE is not alone in this. All the newspapers this morning basically ignored the incident which for me was the defining point of the game. Full of the usuall bullsh&t fawning over the Dubs and Kerry in what in reality was one of the most cynical games Ive seen in recent times. Same with the drawn game in Tralee in the league which descended into full out brawls. Again not a word about it in the media. Michael Lysters performance on RTE last night was embarrassing. Brolly gave a viewpoint on the Gooch which didnt fit the media narrative and he was abused for his troubles. I'm no fan of Tyrone either but the fawning over Kerry who are probably the most cynical ream in the country right now is nauseating.

Replying To riverboys: "If McStay gets a ban he will take it and accept it, if I were a Rossie I'd be more happy that he has so much passion for this team, plenty of managers manage teams but show no passion, who do fans want on the side line robots or people like Davy Fitz, Derek McGrath etc. If I see a manager acting with as much passion as the fans are showing then to me he is a person that cares about his team and can get players fired up for a match" Passion does not equate to abuse of officials.

Replying To rorysboys: "A real supporter follows his team through thick and thin. We can't be in croke park every year. Now is the time to support this young team not to walk away till we're competing with the big boys again. I'm not saying I'm in favour of Rory staying . But if he is I hope to follow my county next year again." Dont give me that real supporter nonsense! If I don't want to go watch rubbish then I won't go to watch rubbish. When Donegal gets its house in order from the top down and members of the county board stop insulting our supporters, then I'll consider returning but not until then. And I'm not alone. There are plenty more like me who won't be back until then either. If you want to be a real supporter and continue to watch the horror shows that we saw against Longford and against Galway, then you go ahead.

You've just got to love the hypocrisy of the Mayo supporters complaining about the opposition booing. I've been listening to that Mayo crowd (and not just a few fans either - I'm talking the vast majority) booing every decision that doesn't go their way and booing Michael Murphy every time he touches the ball and booing Donegal freetakers at Donegal v Mayo games for years. To complain now about Roscommon booing Andy Moran is the most hypocritical nonsense. It's the reason I really hope the Rossies finish them off next weekend. C'mon Roscommon.

Dead Rubber Or Dead Duck - 2 Like(s)
With reference to the Dublin v Roscommon game in 2 weeks time, with neither team having anything to play for, do we refer to the game as a Dead Rubber or a Dead Duck? I would always have referred to it as a Dead Rubber, but Tomas O Se on the Sunday Game last night called it a Dead Duck. I thought this was obviously a mistake but then I heard Marc O Se on Matt Cooper this evening on Today FM also calling the game a Dead Duck. Is Dead Duck a West Kerry phrase or is it used elsewhere to mean the same as Dead Rubber?

Replying To Gavvygavgav: "Staggering lack of self-awareness shown by large sections of the Donegal support today when the decided to boo en mass Dublin's decision to keep possession. Perhaps Dublin should have disregarded their own scoreboard lead and instead played into Donegal's cynically constipated gameplan." In fairness, I think the booing was a direct result of Dublin booing Donegal for doing the exact same thing in previous encounters. Hypocrisy and all that!
