The highlight of tonight's league action was a Croke Park double header featuring Dublin's footballers and hurlers.

First up at HQ, the Dubs entertained Leinster champions Wexford in Division One of the national hurling league at 5pm, followed by the much-anticipated top-flight football meeting of the five-in-a-row All-Ireland champions and Ulster kingpins Donegal (7pm).

Tonight's other four matches all started at 7: Laois hosted Carlow in Division One of the HL in Portlaoise, while there was also a crunch derby in Division Two of the football at Enniskillen: Fermanagh V Cavan.

Finally, in Division Three of the FL, we has Tipperary V Cork at Thurles and Down V Longford in Newry.
