Ennis expecting 'great atmosphere'

Multyfarnham players celebrate with the Westmeath JFC silverware.

Multyfarnham manager Louis Ennis believes that both sets of supporters will combine to make a great atmosphere for Saturday's All-Ireland club JFC semi-final against Mayo and Connacht champions Lahardane.

Both sides have had a long wait since their respective provincial title wins, but now they are in the home stretch of preparations for the penultimate stage of this championship.

It has become well known that both teams have huge support behind them and Ennis told the Westmeath Examiner that will only lift the players at Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon.

"Yes, I think we will have our fantastic supporters out in their droves again next Saturday. They have been a great boost to us, especially when we have looked in trouble in games such as the day in Enniscorthy," said Ennis.

"To be fair, I hear Lahardane have very loyal fans too, so there should be a great atmosphere in Dr Hyde Park. I just hope that we can give our supporters something to shout about. There is a huge prize at stake."

Ennis admits that he is concerned by the long lay-off but added that if his charges can produce a performance that they are capable of, then they have every chance of winning.

"We are always confident that if we perform to the best of our ability that we can win, but I am concerned about the two-month break. Challenges are one thing, but how you turn up and play when there is the intensity of the big day remains to be seen. But, yes, we are confident that we can win."
