Slaughtneil assistant manager John Joe Kearney says he wouldn't be surprised to see Cavan Gaels bombarding their full-back line from the start in Sunday's Ulster club SFC final.

The Cavan champions struck for five goals in last weekend's semi-final replay victory over Derrygonnelly, with full-forward Paul O'Connor netting a hat-trick, and Kearney says the door will need to be kept "firmly shut" if his charges are to retain their title.  

"It (high ball) will probably be tried again. It is a good ploy, if it is played in right," he is quoted saying by the Irish Examiner.

"There's no use dropping it in in front of the forward, it needs to be dropping on top of his head and no full-back likes to see that coming in.

"They'll probably have a wee shot at it again early on to see how it works, but we hope the door is firmly shut."

Throw-in for Sunday's provincial final at Armagh's Athletic Grounds is at 3.00pm.
