Kilkenny legend DJ Carey has announced that he is stepping down from his role as Cats U20 manager.

In a statement issued via Kilkenny GAA, DJ thanked his management team, the players and Kilkenny County Board for all their support throughout his two year term, which culminated in a Leinster title in 2019 following a 1-17 to 0-18 victory over Wexford.

The statement added: "DJ remains fully committed to GAA in Kilkenny."

Chairperson Jimmy Walsh thanked the five-time All-Ireland SHC medalist for his commitment and dedication.

He looks forward to working with DJ in many more roles with Kilkenny GAA over the coming years.
