Donegal All-Ireland winner Eamon McGee says Kerry will need to come up with something out of left field if they are to conquer Dublin on Sunday week.
The Dubs are 1/5 favourites to complete a historic five-in-a-row of All-Ireland SFC titles at Croke Park in eight days’ time and, writing in his column for the Irish Daily Star, McGee says the Munster champions must surprise Jim Gavin’s men with something different in order to tear up the script at headquarters.
“Dublin will be perfecting their machine while Kerry will need to come up with a curve ball,” he wrote.
“Tommy Walsh is out of the bag now so I’d imagine he will be pushing for game time and a strong case can be made for Paul Geaney on the bench to make a big impact when he is introduced.
“Dublin will try and prepare for every eventuality and there’s really nothing new the champs can bring to surprise us now.
“Throw Diarmuid Connolly on, introduce Kevin Mac at some stage and that’s been the crazy thing about Dublin – we all know what’s coming in every game but they are just such a slick machine, it doesn’t really matter that everyone knows.”
