Armagh native Jason McGahan is the new Head of Athletic Performance in Kerry.

McGahan had worked with the Kerry senior footballers as part of his PhD studies during the 2014 and 2015 seasons when current Kildare manager Cian O’Neill was a coach with the Kingdom.

The former Armagh under-21 and minor footballer moved to Kildare when O’Neill was appointed manager there, but he now takes up a full time role with Kerry.

McGahan will oversee the development of all Kerry football teams from senior right down to underage and the Kerryman reports that he will work out of the county’s Centre of Excellence at Currans.

Kerry are the latest in a line of counties to appoint a full-time Head of Athletic Performance as Dublin, Limerick and Galway have already done so.
