Whatever.....I'm not going to get embroiled in your pettiness
Anyway for genuine football supporters on here I would have to say that the two players in my opinion whom have stood out after watching kingscourt a few times in the championship are Joe Dillon & Alan Clarke. I know both have/are involved with the seniors but Dillon was only a bit part player for cavan this year. His power & athletism is serious & would hope he could be coached into a full forward role which has been a problem spot. Also if Clarke could be brought back I think he adds strength, composure & a commanding presence that we lack in centre half back area"
I fully agree with that assessment bond, joe dillion has serious potential, and cavan hasn't had on out and out centre half back since toasty left.

Faulkner is the answer to CB not Clarke.
Darragh Sexton also work a run out too.

Agreed with Faulkner being the answer at CB. Other guys I was impressed with so far from the games I've seen, Conor Smith from Killygarry looks like a good player that could be worth a chance. Blistering pace and is accurate too.
Johnny McCabe from Arva is also a quality player if he wants to join the panel. Same with Barry Tully from Kingscourt.
Haven't saw too many forwards ever get much change out of Lavey full back Fergal Smith either.

Faulkner is not the answer to CHB, not yet anyway. He has potential and is worth a shot there but who knows how it will go. I could never understand the attitude people had when it came to Clarke. He had no sooner made the no 6 jersey his but people were eyeing up his replacements. By far and away the best CHB in the county but not flashy enough for many people. His departure has cost us no end of problems. It has also affected our full back line badly.

Faulkner is a fantastic player & has the potential to play full back, centre half or midfield. I just think that Clarke has more strength, composure & experience presently to play centre half but Faulkner would be more than capable of playing any of the other defensive positions in the interim

Final four are the big four. I said before Gaels would hammer everyone but last couple games the gap may not be as big as previously thought. Castlerahan won well minus an injured Mackey. Semis should be crackers.

That bitterness stems back more than 40 years! Plenty of Cork and limerick lads played with the Gaels back in the 70s when posted to Cavan through the Army and Garda.
And they were all great servants to the club.
But Sean o Rinn has a chip on his shoulder about the Gaels .. and always had."]Why are you so bitter towards Cavan Gaels Sean?"]That bitterness stems back more than 40 years! Plenty of Cork and limerick lads played with the Gaels back in the 70s when posted to Cavan through the Army and Garda.

Sean as a person who was around when you arrived back in 1974 from Cork, I feel that I have to support the view that you Sean has a grievance against the Gaels Club. I feel that the Gaels are a great club and that fellows like yourself could do a great job by becoming involved in this great Cavan club

Scandalous decision to hold a championship quarter final in cornafaen. It can't cater for any kind of crowd. Cars parked in around the pitch in this day and age. And the pitch wasn't even playable clearly standing water in the far goals. Have to say under the conditions both teams did well to serve up an entertaining game. Gaels can count themselves lucky to be through, but it's all about winning at this stage.

Have to agree with this. Both choices of venue a joke. There are far better pitches and set ups in the county. Why not use Kingscourt? Virginia, Stradone, Mullagh, Drumlane all better alternatives.

AS you don't know me there is no point in discussing me BUT one correction I was in Cavan long before 1974 at least get your facts right.
Just keep the subject what it's about championship football.

I have not seen any foot ball in a few weeks as I am just recovering after having major surgery so I will not comment on any games or pitches I have not seen. It will probably be simi finals weekend when I am back.
So please just keep it football be fair to others.

Comprehensive win for lacken yesterday. Very disappointing for cuchullains & arva to be dropping to intermediate next year. With either mullahoran or ballinagh to join them it will leave the intermediate championship very difficult to win in 2018

I have enjoyed the new Championship format this year. We are at the semi final stage and any one of the four remaining could win it. Cootehill and Castlerahan served up a good game of football in very tough conditions yesterday evening when the game was in the melting pot Castlerahan's experience and composure won out. Here's hoping for better weather between now and the Semi's to give pitches a chance to firm up.
@SeanORinn I hope your recovery continues and you get the chance to attend the remaining Championship games. Your contribution to Cavan GAA is appreciated up here in BJD

Not exactly a whole pile of parking around Terry Coyle park either so don't know what you are complaining about. I'm sure Cornafean club obliged the county board at short notice when Ballinagh wasn't available.

Here we go again, that time of year when the footballing experts start nominating players for County positions. Lads, the standard of football in the Championship has been absolutely awful, so any decent footballer will stand out, but it doesn't meant they're good enough for inter county. How can anyone say Dillon has stood out, he's been injured for most of and only played a bit part.

Folks - Cavan Football is gone backwards, the club scene is joke, it needs fixing. How can you have clubs playing Division One League Football playing Intermediate Championship Football? Surely, if a club is good enough to play in Division One in the league every week, they should be playing Senior Championship? I'll say it again, the league needs to be revamped, taking seriously and more competitive.

As for fixtures, I would seriously question the motive behind the Co Board fixing the Gaels match for Ballinagh and then moving it to Cornafean, you wouldnt put cattle on those pitches this time of year, there was plenty of good dry, open prunty pitches around the County, but nevertheless, the Gaels did what they had to do, and Ive no doubt they'll go all the way, unless they meet Donegal (I meant Kingscourt) who no doubt will once again put 15 men behind the ball and try to stop the Gaels playing football.

I think that the motive was that the county board overlooked that Ballinagh were playing in the Ulster Junior Camogie Championship on Sunday in Ballinagh and told the County Board on Friday night that there was no way the pitch could take 2 games at the weekend with the weather and their Camogie team would take priority.

Would ya's stop complaining about everything and just enjoy the games. It's the middle of September, most pitches are gonna be in a bad way with all the ran recently.

Getting back to the action on the field, we have the 4 best clubs in the Semi-Finals which can only be good. We should see two great games, and as shown at the weekend Cavan Gaels are not just as far ahead off the pack as we think. You would still see them as favourites playing in Breffni Park which definitely suits them more. If I was to pick anyone to beat them out of the 3 teams left it would probably still have to be Ramor. They will have revenge on their minds and trust me it would not be as one sided as their last meeting with The Gaels.

Anyway I for one am certainly looking forward to the action across all Championships this weekend in Breffni Park.

The point I was making about Dillon was that in the 3 games I saw him play, injured or not he possesses the type of athleticism & power that should be harnessed into the senior set up. We are lacking a focal point at full forward & I haven't seen any better option in the club championship so far
