Minor match. So people can attend Sunday.

4 teams in 'joint 8th' on 2 points in intermediate....if it stays that way, will score difference come into play or playoff games for a few weeks?

Why are the county board putting on a vital round of league games next weekend?
Does anybody know what weekend the QF's and Relegation play-offs will be? Or does it all depend on play offs.

Anyone at the Arva match if yes can you explain to me why Sheridan was taken from the forward line and McGlade taken off. Just these two moves in particular. I missed the changes as I had to go up to the top office to get something. ??

It's Cavan County Board we're talking about here, they are liable to do anything. A vital round of League games in the middle of the Championship is just crazy. Division 1 League final on Saturday evening when clubs were preparing for 4th round of championship? Just unbelievable. Other clubs in relegation battles in Division 2 aswell. No sense whatsoever. If anything why not have a free weekend this weekend and go at it again next week? Baffling.

Replying To blueskies:  "What I meant was the gaels were always competitive in ulster and were very unlucky in some games even in 2014 when they should have bet slaughtneill. Can the same be said for Mullahoran and Kingscourt?? They seemed happy with their lot after winning Cavan and suffered some humiliating defeats in recent times. The gaels always gave a good account of themselves representing Cavan in ulster and while they never won it they weren't far away. With Jayo over them they could be well equipped to have a serious go at it. 15 - 20 of there players have represented Cavan at some point in their Career not many clubs in Ulster can say that."
Kingscourt played in 2 ulster finals when they were at their peak and from what I remember always played well in Ulster.

Was at the game. I think they just took off mcGlade who wasn't having a good game and moved sherdian out to midfield in his place. Strange move

It's the middle of August. Relax. Some years we haven't even started champ. Nearly at quarter final stage and most league games played.

Burren beat Kingscourt by two points in the Ulster final in 1987 and went on to win the All -Ireland . Lavey from Derry beat Kingscourt in the 1990 final and also won the All-Ireland that year

Inaround the house and Cavan blue

Tomsmith here from Cavan Town the home of Cavan Gaels.
I don't like Searorinn being told to go and watch a few games as most games (except Gaels games) I attend I see the bold Sean present. I do feel that Sean has a thing about the Gaels club. I don't know what it is but in fairness to Sean since his arrival from County Cork and drove up the Barrack hill in 1974 he is and was a great servant to the GAAin Cavan. While he might have made a bad call in relation to the clip board men who thankfully seen the errors of their way and departed back to where the came from I feel that Sean has been a wonderful talent spotter for Cavan Gaa. Sean a cara keep up the good work and don't mind them fellows telling you to go and watch a few games. ******Lord forgive them for the know not what to do or say**************

From following the club championships closely i think there are plenty of forwards who should be introduced/recalled into the Cavan setup by McGleenan in the springtime, midfielders seem a bit thin on the ground though we badly need another midfielder...all the following need to be called up

- David Givney (Mtnugent)
- Martin Dunne (Gaels)
- Kevin Tierney (Bhaise)
- Padriag Moore (BHaise)
- David Brady (BHaise)
- Barry Reilly (Kscourt)
- T.E. Donoghue (Denn)
- Conor Bradley (Ramor)

Any others?

How can there be a round of league games played this weekend and not a round of championship games? Can someone explain that to me?
I'd imagine the last round of championship games should be played at the same time any way out of fairness?

I think gowna02 you have it spot on that is the reason for sure because so many are in a situation if they draw they could miss the cut especially the senior championship out from one game I think the rest have a win or fail situation. There could be several play games for 6th 7th and 8th as it's possible form several to have 3 points each. Even Arva for example should they win would be in that situation.
