Cavanbyrd - are you having a laugh - the right structures in place!!! I thought they were when Hyland was appointed 4 years ago, this was meant to be it for Cavan, the messiah, the man who won 4 U21 Ulster Titles in a row, the man to put Cavan Football back on the map, instead we've become the laughing stock once more....great win for St Pats this year, but what happened the minors was nothing short of extreme disappointment. We were meant to win Ulster and at least got to an Ireland.
As long the present County Board remain in place, Cavan Football will staying in the lower tiers of football - the mere fact that they

Well done deanmartin most cavan people put loyalty to their county before hard fact. You are always willing to turn on your fellow county men to make your point.

farneyforsam - Just trying to bring a bit of reality to the forum - having said that, I do believe that the right manager and management team could do a lot, in addition, there have been some stand out players in this years Championship, very capable guys, some of great quality and with the right management in charge could do a lot with Cavan.

If you take for example, Raymond Galligan playing full forward for Lacken, a big man, very mobile and aware, kicked 2 fantastic points from the stand side of Breffni Park, as good as you'll see, gave the Gaels a lot of trouble until he got injured - yet Terry has him playing in goals, whilst Michael Argue, a good lad, but lacks pace and quality is being played at full forward.

I am saying that they aren't in place at the moment but if we get it right there is the players to win an ulster title in next few years , did I say once that the right structures were in place ?

Ha, Ha - Cavan97 has come in from the cold, having been in hiding since the Roscommon game, I suppose you're gonna start telling us about the wonderful plans Terry has in place for next year??

Cavanbyrd - appreciate your comments, but didn't the County Board appoint Terry 4 years ago after his masterplan to convince them that he would put these structures in place? 4 yrs on and we're still in the same position, apart from one promotion, its been one disappointment after another, and crowd attendances dropping every match.

Ah the irony of Deano talking about disappearing. When Cavan won in the league he was nowhere to be seen. When they lost he had a comment up before the players had left the pitch.

The club championship this year has been chronic, Ive been to a few and the standard is horrendous in all grades, but especially senior, not a good sign for Cavan Seniors (who are already sinking), and then we have local people running commentary on them, i nearly fell asleep watching them!

If all losers, why two pots?

They lost in different rounds. Four of the eight stayed in front door longer. On the Cavan GAA website on the structure of championship and yet they don't stick to their own blueprint.

What's new the doom and gloom brigade are back. I saw plenty of good displays so far this year. You lads are worse than the Sunday game. As for farneyforsam your name shows your knowledge of football.

Well the fixtures have been revised and I think we have 3 less games so fingers crossed it dries up and we get them played for they are piling up now. Hard on everyone including the CCC

If we had a proper County Board, the championship would have started back in May and could be finished by now. Instead, the normal crap of putting everything on hold until Cavan get knocked out of the championship, every year is the same. Perhaps regular club league and championship might actually benefit County Footballers - how many subs/fringe players on the County Panel actually played more than 2 or 3 games for Cavan this year, I can think of 3 or 4 lads who rarely made an appearance for Cavan this year, yet because they were on the panel, they couldn't play for their clubs.
The fact that a few of these lads have gone to America for the summer speaks volumes - theyre fed up with the whole set up.
