It will be a good test for our lads. I know there have been alot of moaning about our style of play but I'm afraid it's not just us. some of the other games I have seen on TV this year were diabolical with the same lateral hand-passing . It is terrible to watch, especially when you are losing. We haven't been too far away in the games we have lost and played with 14 for a fair amount of time. we need to keep our discipline and not be stupid.Martin Dunne comes in for a fair bit of flack on here but at least he is usually good for a few points and they are a precious commodity in this team. if the right ball is played to him he can turn quickly and get a shot off which is something that others dont seem to be able to do.

Wise words S Goldrick, best post on this thread. Theres alot of whinging on the Cavan forum. Its hateful to see young lads being singled out for criticism from ananymous 'keyboard warriors' so I am particularly happy about this win for Martin Dunne who answered the cranks with his football

Well folks after 5 games we have 5 points, no home win, no away loss and no goals scored. It appears that in this particular division the team is competitive. Hopefully, more points will be picked in the last two games. Its a pity the Westmeath game is not away from home.

The team are better when the underfoot conditions are firm. I have no doubt that from 1 to 12 that we are not that far away but am not convinced that the problems in the full forward line have been addressed.

So the big question is where is Mowbar. He is not negative and has followed Cavan all his life. He made an embarrassingly premature post at half time about the positions of our players on the field but has yet to demonstrate the balls to come on and eat some humble pie. Maybe he is keeping the head down until our next defeat. Come on Mowbar, don't be a chicken.

We are yes. Should have had two on Sunday though, a good save and a very slightly overhit pass prevented it.

Nothing positive to say about a win against Galway in Salthill after being 5 points down at half time Slasher? Or as usual are you just here to find fault in any way you can.. Did you even go to the game?

You obviously didn't read my post after the match but just jumped in with your two big feet.

To all those complaining av=bout negative posts -- this is what these forums are for i.e. debate. We have mods to regulate posts here and they saw nothing wrong with it either. Newspapers, radio are the same and say when a players is playing poorly or not giving his all. All ways call a spade a spade lads.
I will always criticise a player or team who I believe is not giving their all.
Dunne was very good last Sunday BUT very poor in other games. We need consistency. Terry was right to drop him but i don't see anyone complaining about Terry.
It seems to be a Cavan thing to put up and shut up but i'm not buying into that at all and won't be silent. I will call it as I see it. If I pay my money to watch the game then I will give a fair account of the game.
Like everyone else I want to see Cavan win everything and achieve success and i know we won't win every game but I expect effort in every game. So suck it up lads if you don't like my comments, they will still come and they'll be honest.

Slasher, the problem here is there is little balance. I predicted certain individuals would be no where to be seen after a win. Mowbar, deanmartintynan have proved me right. There is good and bad in every performance but the problem is some want to only say the bad and then some with a clear agenda against the manager turn the bad into attacks on the management. Some have even made the ludicrous claim that this management has not improved our senior team against all statistics. That is why I and others pull them up as their is a severe lack of balanced commentary.

I do notice that you chose to focus on the team's inconsistency, Dunne's inconsistency, say that we need to kick on from here and beat Westmeath and Meath.. No mention of anything we did right, no mention of the great performances from Dunne and Corr and McEnroe, of the 7 different players who scored. No the best we got from you was to call Mackey overweight and ask whether we are the only team to not score a goal yet.

You can continue to "call it as you see it" (ie find fault with everything you can and blame management when everything doesn't go right) and we will continue to call you out on the negative drivel you post.

Great win on Sunday. Martin Dunne performed very well, MOTM for me. But it must be remembered he was poor in all the other games I seen...Roscommon Laois and Down. He needs to consistently do what he done on Sunday. I can understand a player having an off day, but when he does its generally a stinker....no work rate and looking disinterested. Up the effort and he can be forgiven for the odd poor performance.

Well done to the lads on Sunday. Kinda felt at half time that if we got the same opportunities in the second half as we had in the first that the game was there for the taking. The hungrier and more determined team won in the end. Fair play to Mossy, he had a stormer in the middle. Monaygh needs to stop trying the risky/fancy stuff (whichever you'd like to call it), cause 4 points came directly from stupid mistakes. He is a good footballer but needs to stop taking the risky option. Special word on Martin Dunne, some of the scores were just sublime.
Jack and Gunner were unlucky to come off. Any word on Ronan Flanagan?
Have to say in any game we have played so far you just have to look at the workrate from the players, These players give their all for our jersey. No Galway player showed the same drive and determination that Martin Reilly, Dara McVeety, Fergal Flanangan etc showed. This division is very very tight still with all to play for.
Well done lads. Keep up the hard work. We are nearly there.
