Galway v Cavan

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Its not obvious unless you are paranoid. I hope none of them boys or the lads left on the panel read your trash in here. I hope the lads go to Galway and win firstly because I am a Cavan fan and I want my county to do well and secondly I know if they win there will be a week on hoganstand forum where I won't have to read a word you or your buddies have to say.

Humble pie? Coffee? No bitter Lemons here!!! haha couldn't resist, that's only for Dean Martin Tynan! Went on other counties to see if there were the same type of trashing against their county? Couldn't really find similar. Anyway, as stated already, hope the players aren't reading this. Will be travelling over bright and early Sunday morning to support our County. Best of luck lads, We are well fit to win this one. This league is far from over.

I think we all need to calm down a bit here. Its Div 2 of the league after all and our guys, while plaing some dog-ugly football, are at least trying hard to improve things. No prima donnas to be seen which is a welcome change. 3 points from 4 is not geat, but 5 from 5 after Galway will be decent. The prophets of doom will turn into cheerleaders Sunday evening if that happens.
Lads say they get so worked up because they just care too much, I have to say I agree- You do, now stop it and get some sense of perspective. And we will beat Meath as well.
Stay happy everyone, taking a nice cut out of Monaghan in the Breffni sun will make it all ok!

Where is deanmartintynan anyway. We could do with hearing how crap we are from one of cavans greatest players.

Back to the game, its a big ask to beat galway. Only thing is Galway hopefully wont be so defensive so maybe martin dunne back in. Teams in div 2 well matched so we can win this match.

We will be lucky to get within 7 points of Galway they way we are playing.
No goals and most of our points from frees.
Small forwards and ineffective.
Any of you want to buy some magic beans?

The management need to swallow a piece of humble pie and go and get Keating, Tierney, Givney, Hayes, Tierney etc etc back into the panel otherwise Monaghan will hockey us in the Championship.
Better swallowing it now than after we are in Div 3 again and embarrassed in the Championship.

Yes because all of our Championship victories in the past couple of years have been based on Tierney (not sure if he ever started a Championship game? And he didn't leave the panel he emigrated, or is Terry to blame for that too?) Hayes (Also wasn't deemed good enough for a starting Championship place, is a medicine student and was finding it hard to balance commitments) And Givney and Keating both of who are injured, but perhaps Terry put in a flying tackle on the lads some evening as they arrived for training?

Same old tired basic boring unwarranted hollow points from the less intelligent supporters.. Focusing everything on who's not playing slowly talking them into All Stars and blaming all our woes on the management.

jonsmith you are so far of the mark it baggers belief where you get your information from. Why not ask these lads when you meet them they might open your closed mind or remove the blinkers that are blocking your vision.

I hope you're not including yourself in the "intelligent" bracket Johnsmith, with your history of being wrong.
Care to include your forecast for Sunday?

I'll give you a prediction slasher. If Cavan lose you and mowbar and rest of the sad little men will be delirious with happiness and will fill pages about how its all Terry Hylands fault. If we win there will be barely a peep out if you , except maybe to tell us that Galway are useless, the result was a fluke that papered over the cracks. The cycle with begin again for Westmeath and on and on. Seriously, if you want Cavan to lose that badly why not support another coubty

You seem to be having trouble with comprehension Fred. I'll make it easy for you --
Where did I say i wanted Cavan to lose? I have never said that and if you think I have then produce the post.
Of course I want the best for my county. The trouble is with the system. That's why people are leaving, players and supporters alike.
Do you understand now?

I would like to reiterate what cavan_slasher has written I want the best for Cavan thats why I go to as many matches as I can to support my team. Unlike you as a cavan gaels supporter that might get off your arse and come to the senior final if they are in it? I have followed Cavan all my life and thats a long time.
Show me where I want Cavan to loose like a good lad otherwise shut up.
I am hoping Cavan will beat Galway as are most Cavan supporters, if they do brilliant but I cannot see it and this is only my opinion which I am entitled to have. From what I have seen so far I biggest worry is relegation.

Lets get something straight here - David Givney and Eugene Keating are two of Cavans best footballers - both of them in their prime having represented Ulster as well for a couple of years and played a massive part in getting us to an All Ireland quarter final. It is an insult to our intelligence to just say they are injured. What injuries do they have and how long can they take to clear up - as far as i know i never heard they did cruciates or anything like that so anything else should normally be short term. Besides, injured players at county level normally stay as part of the panel and attend some training sessions to keep in touch. So its obvious there is another reason - so why cant someone come out and level with us. As supporters we are entitled to more from the management .

Have a look at the laois game thread. One of ye wondered where else would we get points and the other said drop the keeper. Nothing positive said at all after an excellent win. Says it all really so impossible to take you seriously. As for your bizarre comment about me being a Cavan Gaels supporter that only attends county finals, well that was very funny.

People - this forum is being destroyed by a few idiots squabbling every week about the most trivial of things. I am all for a bit of debate and this is a place for it but its getting monotonous now. As someone who is no longer living at home, I come here looking for news and for inside info. I appreciate that there will be debate but its getting OTT and boring now!!!

I still don't see any posts where anyone wants Cavan to lose Fred so where are they?
I see people suggesting where improvements could be made and where needed.

well lads going to head to galway today stay over my age starting to tell these group of lads are capable of winning this game we are due a little bit of luck and if we can keep 15 men on the field well i think we are in with a fighting chance and i wish the players and management all the luck in the world cmon cavan.on the issue of players gone my interputation was givney had to sort out work committments and an injury and that there was every possibility he would be back come championship .what ever happens i wish the cavan team every sucess on sunday

Hear hear reformation , this place has become tedious in the extreme . It's impossible to have any sort of discussion as every thread takes on the same boring line . Not much point reading 90% of what's posted on here .

Slasher. You only spout negatives about the team, win lose or draw. I can only conclude you are happy when we lose. What other reason could there be.
I'd love to talk football like the do on other forums but I will bit shy away from defending our young players and our most successful manager in decades from the non stop attacks on this forum.
I'll be in Galway tomorrow to support our boys and nor to make a list of all the things that are wrong.
