Fantastic to see St Pats back in a McRory Cup final. It's another indication that we are successful in producing and developing juvenile talent in Cavan. A Special word of congrats to Finbar.

I saw a twitter post yesterday with a pic of the last Pat's team to play in a McRory final. That game still haunts me to this day. We were 9 points up at half time, hit the crossbar with a goal attempt at the start of the second half, and then folded. I've never since experienced such a low in sport and it certainly prepared me for everything that followed, in sport and in life. Opportunities come and go. It's all about how you use them.

It has been a long wait for the college, 40 years, and it is another boost to the under age scene in the county. Best of luck in the final!

Looks like Danny the gunner will have to wait several more weeks before he can get his minors together then.

It's a pity it clashes with the club finals but I suppose it's something we didn't really notice before for obvious reasons . A lot of Cavan folk with a big decision to make this year . Reckon they'll be heading North instead of South .

Be safe to say the quality minors most are with St Pat's so right now a loss to the county panel. Great that Finbarr O'Reilly is with them but is this of any help to Danny as they have Andrew McGovern with the Cavan Minors. Time will tell for last year ended in disaster.

Hardtimes.... Why would Cavan people have a big decision to make on Paddys day...? Whats in Croke Park to catch their intrest over the McRory Cup Final...???

Lots go every year to Croke Park Sean . I'm sure plenty still will . But hopefully there'll be enough of a buzz generated to try and get as many as possible to turnout in Armagh .

mowbar, Last year's Minor campaign ending in a disaster had nothing to do with Pats but more-so with the Team Management over the Minors.
I would have a lot more confidence with the current management team getting the best out of our current crop of minors.

Its the same every year - pats first Cavan second - I drop my nephew to training most weeks and pats hold about 20 lads from training. As mccrory is an u19 competition about 8 of the 20 are playing. Surely the other 12 can turn up to minor training.
Also other players on the panel who are involved in their own school competitions which are equally as important to them and their school as the mccrory is to pats, had to turn up for training all year, even before and on some occassions on evening after a match.
No matter how its disguised Pats rule - always has been and always will be a case of the tail wagging the dog

Best of luck to the St. Pats team on Tuesday. On a another note sad to hear of the death of Hogan Cup winner Hugh Reynolds.

Anyone think there is a bit too much hype about the place about this. Can't be helping the young lads. A much quiter build up would be better. Best of luck to them anyway, could be another step on the return of Cavan football.

very good piece in the "Celt" about the last winning team by Paul Fitzpatrick. Hope these boys can emulate the likes of Ollie Brady,Ciaran O'keefe, Sean Leddy, Paddy McGill etc.
