Paddy's Day coincides with the biggest date in the GAA's club calendar - the All-Ireland Club SFC and SHC finals went down for decision at Croke Park.

There were two massive tussles at HQ involving four clubs with particularly rich traditions in the national club competitions.

The action commenced at 2pm when six-times Tommy Moore Cup winners Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny took on 2013 champions St Thomas' of Galway in the hurling decider, followed at 3:45 by the meeting of the most recent two recipients of the Andy Merrigan Cup - holders Corofin of Galway and their predecessors Dr Crokes of Kerry, two magnificent clubs who had already won no fewer than five senior All-Irelands between them.

For a St Patrick's Day bonus, Clare entertained Meath in their rescheduled FL Division Two meeting at Ennis (also at 2pm).
