Kiely to approach next game as he would any other

Clare's David Reidy goes down injured as Limerick manager John Kiely watches on

Limerick manager John Kiely admitted that it would be crass of him not to prepare the team for the All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarterfinal as he would any other game.

The Shannonsiders face either Carlow or Westmeath in the next phase of the championship and they will be red hot favourites to advance to the quarterfinal.

Following their exit from the Munster SHC at the hands of Clare last weekend, Limerick must now regroup and focus on the next game.

And Kiely told the Clare Champion that their approach for the next round will not be any different to what they have been doing all year.

"We will prepare the same as for any other game," said Kiely. "We will do the same review on the Clare game as for any other game. We will take it with the same degree of seriousness as we have done all year.

"I will reference the Antrim game in the league. We didn't do anything different for that game. We will be taking this game extremely serious, I can assure you, as the prize is too massive for us, and for them as well. I am sure that's where they see their ambitions as well."
