Cavan's team costs rise

December 16, 2017

There are three Cavan U17 league finals scheduled for Sunday evening from 5pm.

Cavan's county team expenses rose by more than €70,000 this year.

Last Thursday night's county convention in the Hotel Kilmore revealed that the Breffni County's team costs were at €617,161 in 2017, which is €72,333 more than what was spent on teams last year.

Cavan fielded a senior hurling for the first time since 2011 this past season, competing in the Lory Meagher Cup competition, and 2018 will see them lining-out in Division 3B of the Allianz National League.

The rise in costs for the Blues this year pale in comparison to other counties such as Wexford and Mayo, with the latter's expenditure at a whopping €1,514,857 for its county teams in 2017.
