Marc Ó Sé of Kerry claims possession ahead of Dublin's Paul Brogan

Kerry legend Marc Ó Sé has announced his retirement from club football, having represented An Ghaeltacht for 21 seasons.

The Kingdom great, who retired from intercounty duty two years ago, played the full hour on Sunday as Dingle prevailed in a West Kerry championship semi-final at wet and windy Lispole.

The 38-year-old won county SFC medals in 2001 and 2003 and was joint manager as well as full back last year for An Ghaeltacht’s Kerry and Munster IFC successes.

Five times an All-Ireland winner with Kerry Marc took to Twitter in his native tongue to confirm that his playing days are over:

Táim taréis os cionn triocha bliana a chaitheamh ag imirt leis an nGaeltacht. Cuireann sé seo bród orm go n-imríos comh fada san le morán foirne difriúla. Cuimhní iontacha a fhanfaidh liom go deo. Tá mo chuid déanta áfach agus ní féidir an clog a chur siar! An Ghaeltacht go deo
