Lee Keegan has admitted that he was wrong to throw his GPS device in Dean Rock's direction in the closing stages of this year's All-Ireland SFC final.

Speaking on the incident for the first time publicly, the Mayo defender told OffTheBall's Nathan Murphy that his tactic to throw off Rock from kicking what proved to be Dublin's winning point in the sixth minute of injury-time was "probably something that shouldn't be done".

"I suppose in hindsight, it's probably something that shouldn't be done or even thought of," the Westport man admitted.

"You have to credit Dean Rock, he didn't bat an eyelid. He was never going to miss to be honest, he's that good a free-taker and you have to respect that."

Last month Keegan was forced to refute rumours that he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and in the same interview revealed that he had learned of them from his partner while again clarifying that he is in "perfect health".

Last year's Footballer of the Year also described the recent appointment of ex-Mayo boss James Horan as Westport's new manager as "very positive news" and "exciting times for Westport GAA".
