Dublin manager Jim Gavin and the Sam Maguire paid a visit to Kells on Sunday to visit Dublin legend Dessie ‘Snitchy’ Ferguson.
Dessie Ferguson won All-Irelands with Dublin in 1958 and ’63 before his teaching job took him to North Meath. A dual star, ‘Snitchy’ went on to win senior titles with Kells and his son Terry won two All-Irelands with Meath. Another son Conor is currently a selector with the Meath senior hurlers.
With Dublin visiting Meath last Sunday to play a charity game in support of the Sean Cox fund, Jim Gavin took time out to visit the Ferguson household in Kells along with the All-Ireland trophy.
