Galway extend managers' deadline

September 22, 2019

Galway fans fly their flag.

The deadline for nominations for the positions of Galway senior hurling and football managers has been extended to next Friday, September 27.

The Westerners are on the lookout for replacements for Micheal Donoghue and Kevin Walsh who recently vacated their roles. Current Wexford boss Davy Fitzgerald has been heavily linked with the hurling vacancy, while Jeffrey Lynskey, Anthony Daly and Eamon O'Shea have also been touted for the position.

Former Mayo boss Stephen Rochford was tipped to take over the Galway football reins last weekend, but it has since emerged that he will be remaining on as Donegal coach.
