Tomorrow afternoon’s senior football challenge game between Cavan and Meath has been cancelled due to an outbreak of mumps in the Crosskeys area.

The match was due to open Denn GAA’s splendid new facilities tomorrow (Easter Monday) at 3.45pm but the official opening of St Matthew’s Park has now been postponed for Health & Safety purposes.

Cavan county board released the following statement this afternoon to confirm the decision:

“The official opening of Denn GAA’s new facilities and senior football challenge Cavan v Meath due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled due to an outbreak of mumps in the community.

“In the interest of health and safety and to protect the health and wellbeing of players and supporters, Denn GAA have reluctantly reached this unfortunate decision.”
