Rebels out to restore pride

Selector Pat Ryan says Saturday week's Qualifier against Dublin presents Cork's hurlers with a chance to "put a bit of pride back in the jersey".

In the stand-out tie in the first round of the SH Qualifiers, the Rebels are set to entertain the Dubs at Pairc Ui Rinn:

"After the game against Tipp, it will give us a better indication of where we are. What you are looking for really is to put a bit of pride back in the jersey. The players didn't go out to perform like that," Ryan states in The Irish Examiner.

"We didn't go out to have them perform like that. Everybody is getting a second chance which is good. Obviously, it is a huge game. It is novel to be playing a championship match in Páirc Uí Rinn.

"Next week is a huge week for Cork hurling with the minors, U21s and senior playing. You would be hoping that results go in a positive way.

"Dublin beat us well in the league, but that match was four months ago and league is really no reflection when it comes to championship."
