Kieran Kingston is full of praise for the new Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch.

A complete pitch replacement has taken place at the redeveloped stadium in recent months after it cut up badly last spring and came in for scathing criticism.

“We’ve been looking at it for the last couple of weeks,” the new Cork hurling manager told the Irish Examiner.

“The last time I was involved as manager we didn’t play here, with the renovations, so it’s important for us to be ready for it to utilise it, but the pitch looks amazing.

“We’ve trained on it, but we haven’t played a match there yet.”
