Bríd Stack is calling on Dublin, Cork, Galway and Mayo supporters to turn out in big numbers for Sunday's historic All-Ireland ladies football semi-final double-header at Croke Park.

The 11-time Cork All-Ireland winner says playing the semi-final at Croker Park for the first time is a big deal for the sport and is hoping the attendance will go well above the 10,000 mark.

"They (LGFA) have been extremely progressive in their thinking in the last few years, securing big sponsorships, so it doesn't really surprise me that they've gone for the jugular and decided to have the two semi-finals at such a big venue," Stack said on RTE One's Morning Ireland.

"It does need a massive attendance, Croke Park is a very big stadium. They are hoping to get a crowd of around 10,000-12,000, but you would be hoping a lot more would turn up on the day.

"There are going to be two quality games on display so you would hope people will put their money where their mouth is and get out and support their counties."
