As many GAA pundits predict that Kerry will retain their Munster SFC title with relative ease, the Kingdom’s Sean O’Shea certainly doesn’t follow that train of thought.

Kerry are strong favourites to win their seventh consecutive provincial title as they face a Cork side that many believe have fallen further behind their old rivals.

O’Shea disagrees and he has had an insight to Cork football over the last few years having been in UCC where he played with a number of the current Cork team.

Speaking to the Kerryman, the talented forward stressed that Kerry are bracing themselves for a very tough match in Cork’s own backyard, Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

“They showed last year in the start of the game how dangerous they can be,” said O’Shea. “So we’re well aware of the danger they can pose to us so we have to be at the top of our game.

“Last year I suppose they did get a great start on us, but thankfully then we played quite well after that so as we know this year if they get that good start again this year it could be too late for us, so we’ll probably focus on trying to get a better start and continue on from than then.”
