Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy was happy with the result in Pairc Ui Rinn today but says his team has plenty to work on ahead of their league quarter-final against Dublin.

The Premier County finished with 13 points to spare over Cork and, speaking to TG4’s GAA BEO shortly after the final whistle, Sheedy observed: “We played well today, we got into a nice rhythmn before half-time, picked off some really nice scores, gave ourselves a bit of a cushion.

“But there was a really strong breeze there so we didn’t feel the match was over at half-time by any means. Obviously Jason’s goal in the second-half, he broke onto it, stuck the ball in the back of the net and it was going to be hard for Cork to come back from there.

“I thought we had some nice passages of play. Disappointed with some of our finishing up there, we did get a bit sloppy so we’re still walking away from Pairc Ui Rinn with loads to work on.

“But, overall, we’re happy with the result.”
