Bríd Stack has called time on her remarkable Cork ladies football career.

Along with Deirdre O'Reilly, Rena Buckley and Briege Corkery, the 32-year-old full back won 11 All-Ireland senior medals and was named Ladies Footballer of the Year in 2016.

"I have had the best time of my life," she said on RTE Radio 1's Morning Ireland.

"It was a very hard decision to come to but life moves on. I was just so lucky to play on that team. So many great times with the best people."

Stack continued: "I am eternally grateful to my parents for getting me involved in sport when I was younger. They never let any barriers stand in our way and that was very important growing up.

"I have had a fantastic experience and travelled to many fantastic places. It is so important to stay with it for as long as you can. I can look back and say there wasn't one training session I regret going to."

Stack will continue to line out at club level for St Val's.
