Cork star Sean Powter says he "can't wait" to make his return in a Rebels jersey in this summer's championship.

Powter has been side-lined by injury since pulling his hamstring during the Leesiders' opening round Division 2 defeat to Tipperary on January 27th.

However, he has since started sprinting again in training this week as he looks to return to club duty in two weeks ahead of Cork's Munster SFC semi-final against either Tipperary or Waterford.

"The rehab is going good. I'm back sprinting on Tuesday, hopefully, and then hopefully ready to go, back into games in two weeks' time," Powter said at the UCC Sports Star Awards on Monday.

"If all goes to plan, I'll be back playing sooner rather than later. It's been a long three months so I just can't wait now."
