Clooney-Quin manager Fergie O'Loughlin has been long preaching that his charges have the potential to win a county SHC final.

In his third year as manager of the side, O'Loughlin has guided the side to the county final as they seek their first title in 75 years.

They are massive underdogs against a Sixmilebridge side seeking their 13th title, the last of which was won in 2015. However, the former county hurler is confident Clooney-Quin can pull off a surprise.

"I have seen it in different games. The potential is there. It was just to get all together and get the best out of our good players. This year we set plans to work savage hard," O'Loughlin told the Clare Champion.

"It is my third year with the group and it was make or break. I asked everybody to buy into this. They have given it everything and so far it has worked out."
