Davy Fitzgerald says he is undecided on whether or not he'll be at the helm with Clare's senior hurlers at the beginning of next season.

The All-Ireland winning manager suffered a health scare last month which saw him requiring minor heart surgery in the build-up to the Banner County's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash with Galway, which ended in a six-point defeat.

Asked about his managerial future, the Sixmilebridge man indicated that he's not ready to walk away from hurling.

"I am interested in staying managing, I love it, I really, really do," Fitzgerald told the Irish Daily Star.

"There is a lot of miles left on the clock yet so I'll see what happens. Energy hasn't been great the last few weeks but it will come back, so it will.

"I am going to take a bit of time out. I've been very relaxed, playing a small bit of golf, I just want to take a bit of time out."
