Despite being only nine days from their opening clash in the Munster SFC, the Clare and Limerick footballers have yet to receive an official fixture for the game.
Amazingly, the match will not be officially confirmed until 5pm on Sunday evening, but looks set to be played at the Gaelic Grounds at 3.30pm on Sunday week.
The reason for the late delay in scheduling the match is if Sunday's Munster SHC clash between Cork and Tipperary goes to a replay, it will be played on the Sunday and Limerick v. Clare will be played on Saturday evening at 7pm at the same venue.
Limerick chairman John Cregan admitted to the Limerick Leader that it was not ideal preparation for the game.
"I find it strange the way the situation has prevailed and that we are really only going to get seven days' notice," said Cregan.
The winners of this clash will face Kerry in the Munster semi-final at Fitzgerald Stadium in June.
