Clare's Podge Collins admits that he will be tough watching his team mates from the sidelines as they take on Cork.

The sides meet in the Munster SFC semi-final this Sunday afternoon and Collins will not be part of the Clare squad as he must undergo surgery on a snapped ACL.

Speaking to the Clare Champion, the talented dual player admitted that he was looking forward to the Cork game all year, but he was philosophical enough to know that he just has to concentrate on his recovery.

"It's something I was looking forward to all year," said Collins. "If we got over Limerick it was something I was constantly thinking about and it was a fixture that I felt could be a good game for us.

"I'll be getting the surgery done on July 7th. They have to take muscle from some other part of my leg and that's how the surgery is done. The ACL is completely snapped. After the surgery, I'll be assessed after three, six and nine months."
