Brendan Bugler has failed in his bid to get the red card he was shown in last Saturday's HL Division 1A win over Dublin rescinded.

Referee Cathal McAllister issued the former All Star with his marching orders for 'attempting to kick with minimal force' on the stroke of half-time in the 2-22 to 2-20 victory at Ennis.

The player subsequently appealed the decision to the Central Hearings Committee but they upheld the referee's decision and he must now serve a two match suspension.

'The Hearings Committee found that evidence provided was not sufficiently compelling to rebut the referee's report therefore the Infraction was proven," a statement from the CHC reads.

"As this represented a repeat Infraction, the Committee imposed a two match suspension in the same code and at the same level, applicable to the next games in the National League or Inter-County Senior Championship'.
