Clare GAA clubs have backed the decision by the County Board to introduce a levy for the next ten years.

The aim of the levy is to help pay for the redevelopment work at Cusack Park, Ennis that got the green light in recent weeks.

At this week's county board meeting, it was agreed that clubs will pay a total of €60,000 per annum for the next ten-years and this works out at roughly €1,000 per club each year.

Croke Park and Munster Council chiefs will be providing funding to the tune of €700,000 for the redevelopment work which will cost in total €2.3 million. Banner bosses will have to borrow €800,000 and repayments will be made over 10 years.
