County board to look at dual club affiliation

December 05, 2014

It was confirmed at the most recent county board meeting that only one dual club in the county is fully affiliated.

Ennistymon is reported to be the only dual club in the county with separate executives for hurling and football.

The rest of the dual clubs in the county are working under the one executive, which by GAA rules is not the right way to operate.

County board secretary Pat Fitzgerald stated at the meeting that clubs will have to comply with the rules and set up two committees if they want to continue operating under the banner of being a dual club.
