Camogie All Stars: Cork clean up

The Cork camogs have been rewarded for their great season with nine All Star awards.

At last night's All Stars banquet at Dublin's Citywest Hotel, Jennifer O'Leary and Gemma O'Connor both earned their eighth All-Stars, while team-mates Rena Buckley, Briege Corkery, Eimear O'Sullivan, Joanne O'Callaghan, Orla Cotter, Katriona Mackey and Aoife Murray were also rewarded for helping the Rebels to this year's All-Ireland title.

Runners-up and league champions Kilkenny picked up three - Collette Dormer, Anne Dalton and Michelle Quilty - with Clare's Máire McGrath, Galway's Sarah Dervan and Wexford's Ursula Jacob completing the team.

Limerick's Joe Quaid was named Manager of the Year, while Ireland Women's rugby captain Fiona Coghlan was guest of honour.

"Congratulations to this year's All-Stars and Soaring Star recipients, whose exploits on the field of play have earned them an accolade, which is highly valued by all players," said President of the Camogie Association Aileen Lawlor.

"The All-Stars are a national recognition of the skill, athleticism, dedication and sportsmanship of our players, who have thrilled and delighted supporters with their displays during another superb championship season."
