Cratloe won't be using their recent hectic schedule of championship matches in both hurling and football as an excuse if they lose today's Clare SHC final to Crusheen.

With a SFC final against Eire Og to come in seven days' time, the Blues are just 120 minutes away from pulling off a famous double.

"We play hurling the week of hurling games and football the week of football games. We are not complaining," manager Joe McGrath said in the Clare Champion.

The Tipperary native acknowledged, however, that losing both finals doesn't bear thinking about.

"It's hugely enjoyable, from our point of view, to be in both the hurling and football final. It's double joy at this time, but to lose both would be a disaster. There is a huge fall from the top to the bottom," added McGrath, whose selectors include legendary Clare full back Brian Lohan.
