SHC games given go-ahead

Five games will take place in the SHC this weekend after a request by Clare senior hurling management to have them postponed was turned down on Tuesday night.
Three of the second round games will take place tomorrow afternoon with Cusack Park hosting a double-header involving Newmarket and Tubber, and Crusheen and Kilmaley. The other game, in the senior 'B' championship, sees Ruan and Whitegate face off in Tulla.
On Sunday afternoon, Clonlara and Inagh-Kilnamona meet in Sixmilebridge, while Shannon will host the clash of Tulla and Clarecastle.
Tubber, Kilmaley, Ruan, Whitegate and Tulla all suffered first round losses and another defeat would leave them fighting to avoid relegation (five teams face the drop this year).
The remaining five second round games will be played next weekend.
