Fitz expects tough test

Davy Fitzgerald knows that his Clare side will face a determined Tipperary in Sunday's NHL Division 1 semi final at the Gaelic Grounds.

Clare go into the match as slight favourites, but they face a Tipperary side hell bent on reversing the result from the clash between the sides in the group stages of league, according to Fitzgerald.

There is no case of the Banner resting on their laurels either as their manager stressed to the Clare Champion that winning at the weekend was imperative.

"We always try to win every single game we play," said Fitzgerald. "Tipperary will be coming with a strong attitude after our win over them in the earlier stages of the competition.

"I expect that they will have a strong team on duty and it will be a tough test. We were very flat coming towards the quarterfinal against Laois and while we had a lot more possession, we were flat and there was a lack of energy and that is a cause for concern."
