Carlow 2-10

Clare are just one step away from promotion following an impressive fourteen-point win over Carlow at Cusack Park, Ennis yesterday afternoon.

The Banner County enjoyed the best possible start when David Tubridy - who finished with a personal tally of 1-9 - goaled in the eight minute but the visitors found the net twice through Seamus Kinsella, (second goal from a penalty) to leave three between the sides at half time, 1-10 to 2-4.

However, Carlow were no match for their opponents in the second half as the home side racked up the scores.

The impressive Martin O'Leary and midfielder Gary Brennan netted further goals for Clare in the 49th and the 67th minute respectively.

A win against Antrim next weekend will see Colm Collins' charges join Munster rivals Tipperary in Division 3 next season.
