U21HC final takes centre stage
May 03, 2013
Sixmilebridge and Clonlara will meet in the U21HC 'A' final at Cusack Park on Sunday (throw-in 1.30pm).
Managed by former county star Niall Gilligan, the 'Bridge are many people's favourites to regain a title they last held in 2011, having had the benefit of tough games against Ballyea and neighbours Newmarket en route to the decider. By contrast, Clonlara haven't had a competitive outing in five weeks and this could count against them in their quest to win the U21 crown for only the second time in their history.
A big crowd is expected in Ennis for a final which features some of the best U21s in the country, including Clare senior stars Colm Galvin (Clonlara) and Seadna Morey (Sixmilebridge).
Meanwhile, Whitegate are celebrating after they romped to a 3-12 to 1-5 victory over Meelick in last Friday's U21HC 'C' final at Cusack Park.
