Big two on the verge...

September 26, 2008
Clare hurling giants Sixmilebridge and Eire Og are both in danger of losing their senior status. In a dramatic reversal of fortunes, the former kingpins of the Banner County are on the verge of humiliation. Sixmilebridge lost three of their four group games in the SHC and must now beat Corofin to avoid being dragged into the relegation mire. Eire Og - once their great rivals at the cutting edge of club fare in the county - have done even worse and are already in the dogfight, having failed to win any of their group matches. A draw with Clarecastle was all the town club managed from their group matches. Mirroring each other all the way, both clubs also lost their management teams during the course of their disappointing campaigns this far.
