Kerry chairman Tim Murphy has stated that it is unlikely that they will seek a change to the throw in time of their Munster SFC semi-final against Clare, which clashes with the Champions League final.
The Kingdom take on Clare at Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday June 1st at 7pm with the Champions League final between Liverpool and Spurs kicking off at 8pm.
There has been plenty of talk of the games clash given the fan base that Liverpool in particular have in Ireland.
However, Murphy admitted to the Kerryman that the change in time hadn’t even been discussed at county board level and was unlikely to be either.
“Obviously our focus is now on going to Ennis on June 1st to play Clare and as it stands that game is fixed for 7pm,” said Murphy.
“If there is to be any change in the fixture we would be taking our lead from the Munster Council. It would really be a matter for the Munster Council. We wouldn’t have got any major request for it.
“From Kerry’s perspective it doesn’t seem to be a major issue anyway. You’re trying to legislate for something that’s an unknown really in lots of respects so we certainly wouldn’t have any great issues with regard to changing the game for that reason.”Tweet
