Whether its possible to top the 2018 season or not remains to be seen, but Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy believes that the standard will be even higher this time around.

Last year saw the introduction of a round robin format in the Munster and Leinster SHC’s and boy were we treated to a feast of hurling.

Two thousand and eighteen has gone done as the greatest year for our national sport and if Sheedy is to be believed, then it is only going to get better.

Speaking to the Midland Tribune, Sheedy, whose side face Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday, feels that teams were finding their feet last year under the new format, and that all counties will be even better prepared this time around.

“I think last year everyone was getting used to the new format, now we’re all aware, more used to it. And I think it will be even better than last year,” stated Sheedy.

“I’ve always been a massive fan of the Munster championship, I think it’s one of the best championships around, with massive competition around.

“We found ourselves outside of the top three last year and that’s not a place any of the five teams want to be. So you’ve got to take it game by game. Most of these matches will be decided by a puck of a ball and you do need that bit of luck as well.”
